My grandfather's name is Ratnakar Mishra. He is an old man. He is a about 68 years old. He is a graduate. He worked as a teacher in several schools of undivided Koraput and Ganjam districts. He retired from government service at the age of sixty. He is partly toothless. His eyesight is not so good. So he uses glasses while reading and writing something. He is a bit hard of hearing. So sometimes we talk to him loudly. He was wearing trousers and shirts in his young age. But now-a- days he wears a dhoti and a shirt. With his grey hair and old-fashioned dress he looks handsome.
As he is old, it is not possible on his part to do any work that requires much physical strength. However, he writes articles for magazines and newspapers and sometimes takes part in some social work of our locality. Every morning he goes out on morning walk with some of his friends. He always keeps an eye on the activities of the other members of the family and guides them to perform their duties properly. He has acquired a lot of experience in life. So he gives us good advice in our day to day work. He spends his morning hours reading newspapers and magazines. He maintains good relations with all the other members of the family. He always wishes the progress and prosperity of the family. My parents give him proper regard and always act upon his advice. The people in the neighbourhood respect him for his good qualities in dealing with others.
I love my grandfather very much. He loves me too. Sometimes he helps me in my studies and tells me about some interesting experience of his life. He often tells me amusing stories too. I feel that I should do all my work according to his advice. Sometimes I sit beside him and ask him several questions relating to his past experiences. His loving attitude pleases me a lot. He loves me more than my parents do. So I like him very much.
